Types of Events and Ways to Track Them
Updated over a week ago

Events are different types of actions performed by users. Default events available for tracking are visits, clicks, conversions.

Each default event in the tracker can be assigned up to 10 custom events in the form of numeric values.

! PeerClick does not track impressions.

Visits and Ways to Track Them

A visit is the first user switching to a landing page.

For the advertising funnel landing(s)+offer(s), the visit is registered when switching to the landing page.

For an advertising funnel with offer(s) only, a visit is registered when switching to the offer page.

! PeerClick does not track pre-landing+landing+offer funnels.

Registration of visits in the tracker is available in the following ways:

- clicking on the campaign link (redirect method),

- switching to a page with a direct tracking pixel installed (direct method).

Clicks and Ways to Track Them

A click is a user's transition from a landing page to an offer via a CTA (call to action) button.

! Statistics by clicks are only available for the landing(s)+offer(s) advertising funnel. If there is no landing page in the funnel, there will be no statistics by clicks in the statistics table.

Before registering a click event, you first need to register a visit event (by any available method).

Registration of clicks in the tracker is available only when clicking the lander-to-offer link (click link) installed under the CTA button.

Conversions and Ways to Track Them

A conversion is a target action (payment, registration, etc.) performed by a user.

For the landing(s)+offer(s) funnel, before registering the conversion event, you first need to register the visit (by any available method) and click events.

For a funnel with offer(s) only, before registering a conversion event, you first need to register a visit event (by any available method).

Registration of conversions in the tracker is available in the following ways:

- via s2s postback from the offer origin source (for example, from the affiliate network),

- by manually adding conversion data.
