Track Clicks via Lander-to-offer URL
Updated yesterday

How Does It Work?

Clicks are recording only for lander + offer funnels regardless of the campaign type.

Lander-to-offer URLs (click URLs) are used to redirect visitors from a lander to an offer.

When a visitor transfers to an ad and activates an URL that tracks a visit, they will be directed to a lander link. To go further, a visitor clicks a CTA (call-to-action) button.

PeerClick will get a data from the click URL, then do five things:

  • Records a click

  • Record values from tokens passed in an lander URL

  • Record values from custom event tokens

  • Use additional visit info from visitor's user agent that a visit derives (such as device type or country)

  • Place a cookie on a visitor's browser that contains visit information (CEP parameter)

After that, PeerClick will direct a visitor to an offer.

The number of offers and a type of link on a lander will determine the click URL type:

  • If you want to link to only one offer from your landing page (even from several places) or you want to randomly rotate your offers, you need to use click URL. In this case each click URL, even used several times, leads to the same offer or to a randomly selected offer.

  • If you want to link to several offers with a corresponding number of CTA links or buttons on the same landing page, use multi-offer click URLs which is like a click URL with an ordinal number attached. This number points to a respective offer. In this case each of the multi-offer click URLs leads to the same, one offer out of several offers used.

Set a Lander-to-offer URL for a 1 Lander for Several Campaigns

To use one lander for several campaigns, it is enough to make sure that the domain and connection protocol of the lander-to-offer URL set on the lander matches the domain and connection protocol of the campaign (i.e., the domain used in the campaign URL).

Otherwise, setting up a lander-to-offer URL on a lander for multiple campaigns is the same as setting up a lander for a single campaign.

Check Required Conditions of Clicks Tracking

Clicks in the tracker record correctly if the following conditions are met:

1. A visit must be registered before reaching the page with the click URL installed.

2. The domain used in click URLs must match the domain selected in the campaign.

3. The domain used in click URLs must be parked, must not be banned / not paid.

4. The protocol of the page (HTTP/HTTPS) where the click URL is installed must be the same as the protocol of the click URL.
