iFrames are web elements that facilitate the insertion of external content from another URL or other web pages into a web page. For example, social media widgets and YouTube videos are commonly inserted into web pages. So, iFrame traffic is simply traffic that originates from within the iFrame content. This does not necessarily make it “bad” traffic. However, iFrame traffic is also a method of ad fraud to inflate user engagement rates on web pages.
Common iFrame traffic patterns include:
Displaying ads in an iFrame that is 0px high and 0px wide
Displaying ads outside the viewport (also known as the visible portions of a web page)
Displaying multiple resized ads to trick users into “clicking” on different individual ads
To enable iFrame traffic blocking:
Go to your campaign settings.
Select the ON setting under Detect and block iFrame traffic.
This blocking automatically enables the Double Meta Refresh setting.
The statistics take into account the blocked traffic (displayed in the Iframe % column), but the user will see an error page instead of a landing page or offer, i.e. will not move further along the campaign funnel.
